Fall 2024 Semester | Part-time Graphic Design and Social Media Intern
Clemson Gantt Multicultural Center
Understanding what I bring to the table.
My internship with the Gantt Multicultural Center was my first official graphics role, and it taught me why having a dedicated designer on a team is so valuable. I worked on rebranding the Center and creating a cohesive visual identity for its communications, including social media graphics, event promotions, and campaigns. I also managed the Center’s social media accounts, implementing strategic posting and engagement tactics that helped grow its audience and strengthen its online presence. This role challenged me to design for others — collaborating with staff, responding to requests, and adapting to a brand that wasn’t my own — which strengthened my ability to balance creativity with organizational goals.
Beyond design, I gained hands-on experience in office dynamics, communication, and teamwork, while building skills in creativity, time management, and delivering high-quality work under deadlines. By contributing to strategic social media planning and thoughtful graphic design, I helped the Center maintain a professional, cohesive presence across multiple platforms, increase engagement with its audience, and amplify its mission of inclusivity and cultural awareness — all while preparing me for future professional roles like my work with Clemson MarCom.
