Learning what it looks like working within a Brand.

A webpage featuring a section titled "Identity: Brand Story and Values." There is a photo of two graduates in caps and gowns embracing, with one person's face visible and the other with their back to the camera. The webpage includes text about Clemson University's brand story and values.

During my time with Clemson's Division of Marketing and Communications, I gained hands-on experience applying the university’s brand across a wide variety of graphic design projects. I learned to navigate and interpret brand guidelines, ensuring every design — from digital graphics to print materials — aligned with Clemson’s visual identity while still being creative and engaging. I worked across a variety of Adobe applications and honed my skills in the software to craft logos, flyers, templates, social posts, and more.

A major highlight was transitioning to the new Fiercely Forward campaign, where I applied the updated branding, colors, and messaging to create cohesive designs that supported the campaign’s bold and forward-thinking aesthetic. Through this work, I strengthened my skills in layout, typography, color theory, and brand consistency, while learning how to balance creativity within established brand standards.

I worked closely under Matt Swank, one of the art directors, and this mentorship helped me refine my design approach and problem-solving skills. This role was also my first introduction to project management software like Wrike and team collaboration tools like Slack, where I learned to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and coordinate with a larger team supporting the university. Beyond design, I developed professional skills in organization, communication, and teamwork, gaining a clear understanding of what it takes to execute large-scale design projects within a structured, high-profile environment.

Here’s a few of my favorite projects below!
